Five years of laboratory work developing EORGAS has shown utilizing CO, as a minor portion of the CO2/CO mixed gas, can be done safely.
Dilution of the CO with CO2 further ensures a higher level of operating safety.
Field operations are continuously monitored by both simple home-type CO monitors, alarms, red lights and personal monitors to provide safe, on site operations for both the workers and the general area.
Environmental Aspects
Use of the mixed gas (EORGAS) does not result in the emissions of any greenhouse gases such as CO2, nor CO. Gasses produced with the oil are recycled.
Since the EORGAS can be produced on site, while also producing steam for production of electrical energy, a “green” energy supply is available.
The mixed gases of CO2 and CO are sequestered within the reservoir.
An Environmentally Friendly and Economic Process for Heavy Oil Recovery
EORGAS is a patented, paradigm-shifting process for conventional and heavy oil recovery, having no CO2 emissions, and simultaneously increasing your IRR.
The technology combines the physical chemical effects of CO2 with the geochemical interactions of CO to recover oil faster, mobilize asphaltenes and shrink swelling clays. It operates at immiscible pressures and accesses tighter oily zones.
EORGAS is produced onsite by turning petcoke, or other hydrocarbons, with all produced gasses (CO2/CO) injected downhole for oil recovery and sequestration.
Recycling and economic revitalization of marginally economic old SAGD projects and application for new heavy oil projects is targeted. Alternatively, CO, individually could be added to current heavy oil operations.
